The Painted Hall, designed by Sir Christopher Wren and completed in 1705, features intricate ceiling paintings by Sir James Thornhill (1707-1726) depicting British naval history and symbolic representations of monarchy, science, and the arts.

The Painted Hall Project (2016-2019) conserved and restored the magnificent ceiling paintings in the Painted Hall. additionally during this period guided tours allowed visitors to explore and admire the exquisite artwork up close.
